Ocean City

The drive was long 6 hours to the packet pickup in Ocean city Nj

The boardwalk I saw and it was very cool- old school along the ocean...

I had a great warm up along the coast and then hit the hay early

I woke up to cold temps and wind on race AM. I bundled up with  4 layers.

The race started. The wind started. 25 mph the whole point to point. The RD said it was the most wind he had seen in 18 years of the race. Fun.

By mile 8 I was exhausted and pace wS pushed to 10 mph. I was froze. I decided to pull out at mile 10. Very happy with my choice. I drove home and still was happy with my not finishing- I was warm finally!

Red Rock

I ran the Red Rock Canyon 26.2 last Sat )
It was freezing at the start, middle of the desert , 30 degrees where the bus dropped us off.

The race ran into the canyons and climbed up and down for the first12 miles.

Hard

My legs were very heavy at mile 5 and I wanted to stop ! So much.
But I keep on going, my mantra helped, one mike at a time.....

I was in 6 th place. I knew the women in front of me would drop back, I had to have the patience to allow them to.

By mile 14 I was in the lead.

I felt my strongest from miles 18 to the end, a 8 min neg split

Great to win. Thrilled with my mental toughness

I ran this race in 2012 and bettered my time  by 22 minutes

Next up is the CMS Team Grand Prix 5k in Cambridge MA the the Snowshoe Championships March 12

Last state

I was glad I picked Honolulu as my Hawaiian state to run a 26.2 in- I had heard all of the islands were tough , but this one in the middle

It was humid. The first 3 miles in and last 3 miles were the worst . Thank gosh for a 5am start

After we ran out of the city towards the northern hills, a small breeze helped

Overall good race. Aid stations plentiful and sponges were handed out. 30,000 runners I believe .

I finished not strong, my legs very heavy and my energ depleted by mile 20.
8th in my AG of 1,260 women , top 40 overall.

Thank you to my wonderful friends......
50 Sub. 4 hour marathons and every state goal done.We made the paper too !!!

On to my next goal of a 300 26.2. Buckling down for 2016.

Run the Bucks- Off my 6 seconds Podium

PA run the bucks 26.2

Perfect fall day y the DELAWARE river

Sun and no wind

Started the out n back course at a conservative pace. The river was on our right as we started. About 450 runners for the marathon.

Aid stations every 2 miles were great.

I felt good. Kept my pace on track.

I was one min off on my predictions though. Came up to the 20 mile mark and started my move up to 730 pace from 750. Passed the fourth placed lazy then was bearing down on second and third place. Could not catch them by 5 seconds.

Fourth women overall )
