Skecher Go MEB Speed 3

I ran the Lake Placid 26.2 on June 12th and for coming in 2nd, won a pair of Sketchers Go Run 3's

I wore them first for a 10 mile tempo run , next day hill work , then treadmill speed intervals

Very lightweight Flexable
5.3 OZ
4 mm heel drop
So wonderfully surprised at how responsive to speed they were and in how my foot was cushioned- yet in a
light hugged manner

Hill work perfect - no trails . I would think these are geared best for roads track and dirt patches , not technical hills or trail
Treadmill- Yes!

Picking up and slowing with ease and a Flexable foot. Flat and easy

I will be wearing these in my next road marathon Mad City VT July 10th -

I was added to Skechers Performance race Ambassador Team on June 20th
Excited. Support with racing and training with a reputable steam. Stoked.

Redemption Hill and Skechers Team

Mt Wash road race
6-22% grade
7.6 miles

My favorite road race to date
My third time last Sunday

I told myself it was going to hurt
It was going to be painfully
Hard
I was not going to walk a step
Past years I did walk a lot- walk run - walk run

I was not going to this  year.
And I did not

Most proud of this - I kept my mind steel
Best time in three years
I felt good.
Our Womend open team was 2nd out of 15
Awesome

I signed with Skechers performance shoe on June 20th. Totally excited and ready for a fast and strong 2016 summer and fall of racing
Loon mountain championships next July 3rd

From DNS to Second

I'm Lake Placid NY
Marathon 112
BQ state 47

Sitting in my car with the wind whipping around - I was so tired just wanted to go back and sleep

I texted my best friend a talented triathlete
She said just start running and see how you feel....... So I did

I did not feel good until mile 15 really
Keep a 800 pace was my goal today - very very slow. I am  able to hold a 730 pace normally - fast marathon

I did . I took a gel at mile 11 and perked up- neg split the last 6 miles
Came in overall Women second)
Mind mind over matter.

I am resting more importantly and focus on hood health - weight gain healthy
On to Mt Washington

MI #111 26.2

Bayshoremarathon

The weather turned out perfect , too humid though , overcast with high humidity, 70

Perfect pre race, sleep good, breakfast 2 hours before. Felt tired, but well

The first half even split at 141, goal A was 138,

Second  half even again. Could not race it in but kept pace, health concerns and healthy weight gain is needed for a proper pace push!!! I felt as though I was falling forward! Almost passed out at finish, hot hot , but made it

4th age group award, 22nd women in over 500!!

Next up Lake Placid 26.2
Goal A 312

OR BQ state # 45

Eugene
So green and brilliant sun when I arrived Sunday. P's let pickup a breeze - did my warmup on Hayward field so I could see the start and finish.

Race Am. Busy. Lots of runners. Tired.

Started on pace and felt tired right off. So I took the first 2 miles slower. Ate a gel at mile 5 which helped.

On pace then till mile 14. Again tired.
Gel 2 and sports beans. Getting wRm out and the course was flat- way too much got my liking, mentally touch to stay on target.

I tucked in for the last 6 miles and tried to pick it up / could not for my target goal of 315:
Tired and my legs were very heavy. Too much lack of sleep and nutrition,

I made goal B which was a BQ state for OR and a sold effort.
Only 5 mores states to redo for a BQ time in every state

Confident to pick my pace up for an all out effort for Run the Red marathon in 2 weeks.

Redemption year

The I was on my way to run Charlottesville last year but was injured and turned around before I got to the airport

This year I went knowing I had expectations- not a pr but a strong podium finish. I
My coach was racing too so the pressure was on. I work better with pressure!!!!

Early start at 7 which I love- rainy and cool perfect

The race was a series of unrelenting hills through neighborhoods and a park. Scenic and varied

Felt very good at mile 8 ran into a mind game slump- used my mantras to get through

Hills and hills. Started in 6th place knowing the women in front of me would fall back- they did and I took the lead at mile 23

At mile 24 I did not know where to go as it was not marked- ran an extra mile- started to panic but used my mantras  again to get back on track.

Happy with second women. Felt fast and stronger

What worked
Karhu Fast 5 shoes
Swiftwick 12' socks
Pink and blue LaceLockers
One strawberry apricot Amrita bar for breakfast
2 honey stinger gels
1 pack of Honey stinger gel strawberry bites
OnlyAtoms pink and white singlet

PR racer MA hat- perfect for the rain

On to Eugene OR in 3 weeks
