OH Elyria 26.2

Nov. 8 2015 was OH and a 26.2 race )
I was here to upgrade my state to a BQ status. All of my 49 states I have ran a marathon in are BQ 'a except for 4, OH being a state I am redoing over the upcoming 6 months )

The day was perfect. 40 at the start and 45 at the finish

Nice out n back

Gorgeous bike path and very quiet

To get my mind back on track - I kept conservative for the first 14 miles, 800-757 pace

I felt good at mile 18 then at 20 to pick it up to 750 with one 730 mile in

Finished 329. Definite not a good time, but mentally I was strong and feeling good- now ready to push the pace to a sub. 315 this year ))))

Third women overall!!!!

Next PA buck county marathon Nov 15
Then my last state Hawaii Dec 13.
My best friend Beth Pellerito was with me- smashed the half marathon and provided mental support. Love you friend.

LVL 10k to 24hr Relay

Sunday the 19th was the Level Renners 10k in Brockton MA

The day was hot and humid
Grand race consisting of 2 loops and one hill. Raced it on Mountain legs not remembering speed until mile 1)
Then I set into a sweaty groove and finished in the top 10 barely. I was happy with my effort for the day. Saw the wonderful LVL guys, Megan, Sara, Rob, and some CMS Teamates Heidi, Arthur, Krissyy, Jim, and Dave, made it a 14 mile day

Saturday the 25th I was asked to be a part of the Mystics relay team for The Relay around the lake 24hr event.

I had a relay partner with a leg at 6 then at 6pm - we traded off every other 5k or 10 k trying to get in as miles as we could for the team Mystics.

Very pleased with my racing- no soreness or issues, my splits were nice, fastest after each 5k and better in the evening with a 740 average. 25 miles for the day. Team Mystics ended up first for the women and second overall- grand fun!!!!!

90 miles for the week. Swimming daily huge difference in muscle recovery.

Thanks to Karhu for the Karhu Strong's and then the Fast 5's for my kicks

Thanks to LaceLocker for keeping my laces tight and to Swiftwick for my white 12' compression socks.
Honey Stinger GU and chews and Amrita bar during my race kept me fueled well plant based!

Next up is the Watuppa10k Trail race August 1st.

Canada to Loon

BLubec ME. What a quaint quiet town on the boarder to Canada. I ran the international marathon on June 28 th . Epic time .
You must have a passport and verify your number first on each boarder . It takes quite a bit of time.  Completely worth it. The marathon starts in Lubec then to Campebello Island. All hilly with more hills.
I raced well - prepared for the hills. I let the ladies fall back and then stayed in second to the finish. Happy with my effort on this challenging race.
Next was Loon Mountain Mountain race, yesterday July 5.

A very tough one, 6.7 miles up and down, 40% grade, mud, all in Lincoln NH.

I tried, ran well, my legs were tired though from the marathon last weekend. I walked the 40% grade, made it though , and felt mildly bad and quite tired at the end.

My Team rocked it and we ended up in First!

Another epic race in the books !!!!!!!
3 more to go in the Mountsin USATF-NE Series))))

Cranmore this Sunday.
Thank you to all of my Sponsers for the support .

Washington

Mt Washington road race

7.8 miles uphill

Lovely day with bright sunshine.
I felt good at the start although warm already at mile 1, dressed  in too many layers. Miles to 3 I took my pace TOO easy any then was trying to make up ground in the second half . Not recommended for an uphill race!))) in a marathon I could pull this off but not here.

I maintained my pace up the rock pile increasing it by 1 min per mile . Finished feeling too fresh and strong. This showed me that I did not push harder at the start and that my fitness was solid .
Top 13 AG and our USATF-NE CMS open team placed 5 th .

This race I will do yearly and cannot wait to do again with a better pace procedure. Also I will wear racing flats.

Thank you to my sponcers for the support which helps me race so well !

Alaska marathon number 97

I made it to Anchorage after 3 flights. Woke up ready to run Wayy to early as the time change was four hours! Nice shake out run by the base of the mountains .

The marathon was Sunday AM, which I would have liked to of been Saturday! The expo was small and fid not  have too many running items. Ready to race!!!

Race morning foggy and 50 degrees with a little drizzle. Almost perfect. I did not like the 9 am start time- much too late as I was ready at 6am to race!

The course wound back and forth along the rail trail outside of downtown, many loops and switchbacks along with up and down terrain. We had to dodge many half - marathoners and walkers which slowed the pace.

Pretty but I did not see any wildlife .
My stomach was not happy so stops were made, then hamstring jury o do do bad at mile 15 to 17- more slow down...
Felt great the last 10k, brought it in at a 645 pace.

Second Women Overall and got a great award and gift card!

Very happy to have my Sub 4 state done, #49. My time was not good at all, but I will take a top 3 and newspaper mention any day.

I took 3 GU and 2sips of Gatorade at each water station.

Karhu Fluids, LaceLockers over my laces in green , Knee compression socks from Swiftwick , SeeMeInTheDark Headband, Healtheorganics power bar to eat before the race.

Team USATF-NE race this month Grand Prix 15 k.

Alaska was beautiful .

A new Love and PR

Last weekend was my first Mountain race! Ha. Cool for this road running track girl.

How about 3.7 miles, 12%grade, all uphill, in the woods?

I loved it

My legs and breathing took about 5 minutes to say, oh my gosh.... This is do hard... Then I figured out I had it and the rest was truly a challenge but wonderful !
Next weekend is Mt. Washington which will be double Mt. Ascutney , same grade, 7.8 miles. Whoooo!! Trail running is a blast. My legs seem to like it.
I ended up third in my age group .

Yesterday was a Team USATF-NE race, 5 miler in NH.

Hot day.

Not too ready yet. I dumped water over my head at mile3 and felt better then tucked my tank up. Pushed on.

The team open division , which I am in, was third!!! Too cool . I ended up to 15, new PR by 2 minutes. I am really a distance runner, so my short race times are not too fast at all.
But.

Making progress!

My legs felt good and a n negative split the last 2 miles, just give me 20 more miles and I would of had a blast.

Thank you to my sponsors for the wonderful gear and products. I have much positive support.
Now on to the top of the Mountain Sat.
